Naples Florida

Jeff had the opportunity to speak at the ASME 2010 Summer Bioengineering Conference. Austin and I were lucky enough to be able to go with him. We stayed at the Naples Grand Hotel. They had a crib for us to use and we spent most of our time in the pool and on the beach. The hotel had a private beach with tram cars that ran from the hotel right up to the sand. Austin loved riding on the tram. I kept thinking of when I used to go to the Jersey Shore and on the boardwalk there would be large cars and when they would go by the operator would say "Watch the tram cars please". This was Austin's first time at the beach and Jeff's first time in FL so it was really fun to watch them explore the ocean. We got to see a lot of fish and crabs and even a turtle. Austin had no fear which scared me because he would just run right into the water and keep going even if he couldn't reach.

We also had the opportunity to spend some time with Dr. Rodefeld and Libby. He is working with Jeff on the project. He invited us to his family's condo and we went swimming. It was really nice to have the pool all to ourselves. They also took us to a restaurant that was closer to downtown Naples and it was right on the water. It was a lot of fun. Austin enjoyed using the crab claw to eat his melons.

Jason and I were actually going to be living in Naples for the next three years... until we decided that the law school there isn't where we wanted to go... It made me sad. I wanted to go to Florida. But oh well. It looks like you guys had a lot of fun!

So glad that Austin loved the beach. We took Noah for a reunion when he was about 18 mo and he hated the feel of the sand on his feet!
PS I love this last picture of your family!
