Jeff and I found this dresser by the side of the road with a free sign on it. We took it home and cleaned it up. Then we decided to make a project out of it. I wanted a new shelf in the family room so we starting brainstorming ideas as to how to go about changing this dresser into a shelf. I cleaned it off and we gutted everything inside. We put the drawers to the side for another project which I will show you later. Jeff added wood inside for the shelf and we sanded and painted it. I picked dark granite for the color. Then we added scrapbook paper to the back. I used 12 x 12 paper from Hobby Lobby and Elmers Spray adhesive and a brayer. I love how it turned out and it will be nice to be able to fit more stuff on our shelf in the family room. The old shelf might go in Austin's room or we might find something else to do with it.
