Fourth of July

It rained all day on the Fourth of July. It wasn't ideal weather for celebrating the independence of our nation but we made do. We had the pleasure of having an inside picnic lunch with the LeMasters and the Jensons. It was a lot of fun and there was a lot of great food. I tried to take pictures of the kids together but I wasn't able to get any very good ones. There was usually one kid crying. These are the best ones I could get.

A Wonderful Visit

G.G. Pap-Pap and Aunt Kendra came to visit us. They stayed for four days and we had a great time. Most of the time we played games and played with Austin. We also went to the shops in Down Town Lafayette. My Mom and Dad also visited me at work. Jeff and I were able to go on a date without Austin thanks to my family. They watched Austin so we could see a movie. I wish I would have taken more pictures but we were just having so much fun I didn't get the camera out as much as I wanted.

Little helper

Austin likes to "help" me vacuum. He follows me around and tries to climb on it while it is running. He doesn't like the hose attachment but other than that he loves it. It is hard to vacuum when he is following me around but it is funny to see him get so excited over it. As soon as he sees me start to get it out he crawls over and tries to climb on it.

Little Swimmer

It has been really hot this summer and I got Austin really cute swim shorts so I got a big bowl of water and was letting him splash around in it outside. Our friends and neighbors the Martins said we could use their baby pool. It was really fun. Jeff carried a trashcan full of water down the stairs three times and filled it up. Then we called Austin's friend Brielle and they had fun in the pool together. Austin's favorite part was looking at himself in the sliding glass doors. He would have stayed in the pool all day if I'd let him. He had a blast and it was so fun to see him playing in the water.

Escape Artist

Austin has become quite the escape artist. We don't have a baby gate so I tried putting different things in his way so he would stay out of the kitchen. Nothing worked and he is really fast. He crawls straight to the ant traps. We finally just put them under the fridge and stove. I didn't think of moving the ant traps at the time so my idea included blocking him into the hallway. At first he thought it was funny but then he got very upset once he realized he couldn't escape.

Austin's friend Brielle

I finally took pictures of Austin and Brielle. They get to play together almost everyday. Brielle is a month older than Austin but she gets around a lot better. For the most part they are nice to each other but Brielle does like to pull his hair and try to stick her finger in his mouth. Aren't they cute?

Mr. Wizard

Vanessa made Austin a hooded towel when he was born. It is really nice for baths and he really likes to be wrapped in it. Jeff and I think he looks like a wizard with the pointed hood. I was trying to get pictures of him in his towel but he started climbing on me when he was still naked. It was really funny. I picked pictures that didn't show any of his stuff.
