First Snow of the year

This isn't Austin's first experience with snow but I think it is the first one in his mind. He was born in Rexburg where it snows all the time. This is the first time he got to walk around in it. When I opened the door he wasn't sure about it at first. He just stared at the ground and didn't come outside. I tried to pull his hand to get him to come outside but he didn't want to. I had to pick him up and put him on the ground outside. He just stood there again looking at the ground. Then he pointed and looked at me. He slowly started walking around. He enjoyed it a lot more once he saw his own foot print in the snow. I tried to show him that you can pick it up but he wasn't interested. He did have a really nasty runny nose though. I didn't have a tissue so I didn't clean it up. Sorry.

Want to learn Cake Decorating?

If you are interested in learning cake decorating I am going to be starting a class on January 7th 2010 at 6:00 p.m. There are four classes total for course one. Each class is two hours long. There is a promotion going on in January where you get half off tuition and then Wilton gives you a $15.00 gift certificate to purchase wilton products. To sign up just go to Hobby Lobby in Lafayette and ask to sign up for the cake decorating class at the register. There is also an information sheet telling you what to bring to the first class at the very front of the store between the two sets of doors. Hope to see you at my class!

Wilton Course 2

I had such a good time teaching this class. It was really fun having four of my students from my course 1 come back to learn more. All of them showed great talent in course 1 and it was really neat to see them expand their talent. I really loved working with the royal icing and teaching all the flowers.

McKinney Boot Camp

We visited the McKinneys for the week of Thanksgiving in Virginia near Blacksburg. The day before Thanksgiving we also were there for pie fest. Everyone had a great time. Austin learned how to climb down the stairs and fend for himself better with other kids. They also took us shooting so we all had a chance to shoot a 22 rifle, 9mm pistol, 30-06 rifle, 16 gauge shotgun among others. Rick and Jeff also tiled two entry ways while we were there.

Indianapolis Zoo

Two of my high school friend came to visit me the second week of November. I was so excited for them to come. When we picked them up from the airport we went to the Indianapolis Zoo. Austin really liked the animals. They had a dolphin show and it was really neat to be able to walk around the zoo when it was practically empty. They had a shark petting tank. I think that was Austin's favorite part. I don't know if he liked touching the water or sharks better. We also took a trip to Chicago but my camera batteries died as soon as we got into the city so I don't have many pictures. It was a really good visit and I was sad to see them leave. Thankfully I'm only 12 hours away so I'll be able to see them again in December. Thanks Steph and Sarah!
