Little Stink Weed

I really can't believe how fast Austin is growing. As my Mom would say, he's growing like a little stink weed. He is fitting into 0-3 month cloths and his 0-3 month onsies are getting really hard to button so we got some more of the next size. Since we've gotten bigger diapers we haven't had any leaking incidents. We used to pick him up and his back would be soaked, ewww. We've been putting a silky blanket in his crib for him to lay on to try and keep his hair from rubbing off in the back. I really love his dark hair and I don't want him to have a weird bald spot so I'm hoping it works.

Austin's Blessing

Austin was blessed on September 28th. His outfit was great and the bib he is wearing was made by Mrs. Boyer. He didnt cry during his blessing, but he did poop twice during sacrament meeting. Luckly it all stayed in the diaper.

Family Visit

We had a great time with all of those who came to visit for Austin's blessing. We were glad that so many could make it and we enjoyed having everyone here to see him. We had lunch with all the Kenningtons and Gampes that came and we also had a lunch after the blessing on Sunday with us all there. Thanks to everyone who came out.

New Quilt

This is what my mom has been doing for the past few weeks while she has been here helping with the baby. She made up the pattern herself, and quilted it on her machine she brought and sewed the binding by hand. It his her second quilt and it looks great!

3 Weeks Old

Austin is growing up so fast right before our eyes. He used to be too little for new born cloths and now he is in some 0-3 month old cloths. He has been making more sounds lately. Mostly they just sound like grunts and one of his noises sounds like a goat. He likes to look at his stuffed animals but I only put them in his crib while he is awake and I'm right there because I'm afraid of suffocating him. I take them out once he falls asleep. He will sit there for hours while he is awake and just stare at them. I always wonder what he is thinking. He likes going for rides in the car and he seemed to like the little hat and booties I made for him in one of my sewing classes. We are enjoying our little boy so much.

Aunt Lee

My sister Alycia surprised me and came up to visit for a day. I was so happy to see her and we had a great day with my Mom playing cards and shopping and going to sonic for their happy hour real fruit smoothies. I was super sad to see her leave, especially since she woke up in the middle of the night with Austin so I could get more sleep.

First Stroller ride

A few days ago Jeff and I went for a walk and we decided to try out Austin's stroller. It corners well and is really light actually. We think Austin enjoyed the ride also. It was nice to get outside and walk around too.

Uncle Dane

When my brother and his wife Laurel come over they always fight over who gets to hold Austin first. Austin usually is sleeping when they are visiting and he just snuggles up in their arms. This last visit when Dane held him he started making a bunch of funny faces. We were all laughing pretty hard, it was cute.

Baby Baby Baby

Here are some more pictures of Austin. He is doing really well. His cord finally fell off today. I was really happy because it was sick looking. He has been doing better at nursing and sleeping at night. My Mom suggested we add another layer to keep him warmer and it worked. I think he was just too cold and now he sleeps for four hour stretches instead of two.

My Mom made him an Indian costume because of his dark hair and olive skin tone. We tried it on him and he got really mad. I don't think he liked it very much. If you click on the picture to make it bigger you can see his face and how upset he is.

I haven't sent out his baby announcements because I'm getting his picture taken on Saturday at JcPennys and I want to see if I want to use that picture or one I've taken.

And just for old times sake I'm going to list my classes I'm taking this semester. I'm taking home and family management and so far it is really easy and boring and early in the morning. I figured I wouldn't mind getting up early because lets face it, I'm up anyway. I'm also taking home decor sewing. I'm excited about this class because I will be able to learn how to make drapes and table cloths and pillows and bed coverings. My other two classes are Introduction to organizational communication and media strategy planning. They will both be a little more challenging than my other two classes but not overwhelming. I'm also taking time management and concentration online for .5 credits each just to give me 12 credits.

Just too Cute

Even though Austin just sleeps and eats most of the time I can't help but take a lot of pictures of him doing the same things. I've been trying to get pictures of some of the funny faces he makes but our camera lag time is just enough for him to move or stop making the face I was trying to get. I like the picture of Jeff doing his homework with Austin on his lap. Next time someone asks me how we are going to go to school and take care of him at the same time I'll just show them that picture.

First Bath at Home

At Home With Austin

Here are some pictures of Austin after we brought him home. Brielle's mom made the sign for us when we were coming home from the hospital and the blue blanket is right after his first bath at home. The first picture is of our appointment we had yesterday to check him again and everything went great, he has been gaining weight and is healthy.

Baby Austin

Baby Austin was born late September 5th. Brielle had a C-Section after 18 hours of labor because of lack of progression. She was at 5cm for most of the labor. Both Austin and Brielle are doing great and everyone agrees that he is the cutest baby and has more hair than we could have hoped for. Even his back and arms have hair on them. We'll be staying at the hospital for a few days. Brielle is already able to walk and should be eating solid food by lunchtime today.
